The experience was very informative and conducive in terms of understanding privilege, and how the children on the other side, deprived and by themselves, live and deal with problems. It was good to see the non-partisan philosophy of the Aftercare Outreach Programme in action, by taking in kids from various other shelters and care foundations to equip them with fundamental life skills, facilitate further studies and help them secure a dignified livelihood.
