Review for Free2Luv, Seattle, WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This all started out with an idea that blossomed into this extraordinary opportunity and I can't thank Free2Luv and their sponsors enough for working with our troop to make that happen! For one of my troop's Silver Award Projects a group of four girls chose the theme of empowerment through expression. They researched many programs and chose this program because of its uniqueness, varying relevant topics/themes, and art component. It was the absolute perfect fit. We were so honored to be approved to share the Express it Program with younger troops of varying grades. First, troop leaders shared the workshops with troop members so they would have first hand experience going through the workshops themselves. The troop loved the opportunity to journal both in writing and through art! I was totally taken back by how it affected my troop and how their own self-reflection made them more effective facilitators when sharing the program with others. Every group that received the workshops did not want it to end. The friendships made, I truly hope carryover as the younger groups move on into our local junior-senior high school. Our troop's goal was to become mentors for the younger groups and it was wonderful to see that seed planted during the Express It workshops.
*We did not facilitate all the workshops. We worked in small groups ( 1 troop member to 5 participants) and it really allowed all involved to become fully engaged. There is so much to discuss and so many topics to choose from that we often ran out of time! The troop loved that they had the opportunity to continue working on it at their own speed on their own at home. It allowed them to each dig deeper and continue their individual journeys to self long after the workshops ended. On a side note, Lily Harper was such a pleasure to work with and made putting this program together super easy!
