Review for Best Robotics Inc, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
This was the first year our school participated in BEST, and it was by far, one of the hi-lights of our year. Our students loved the experience even with all the long hours we spent working prior to the competition. I have parents and students who tell me they cannot wait until BEST next year. What sets BEST apart from other competitions is that EVERY child can participate; there is a job for everyone. It was also wonderful to see parents and members of the community helping our students. The skills learned during those six weeks are skills that only programs like BEST can offer!

the growth of the students. I watched students perform tasks and work in ways that would not be possible without BEST. The students were often suprised themselves at their successes.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Make sure ALL judges understand the rules. I would also choose judges, if possible, from other communities. Judges should also explain why points were deducted so the team can make improvements. When judging the oral presentations, one set of judges should judge all teams. Teams should be given score sheets in advance for notebooks, booths, oral presentations, so if there is a dispute, an appeal can be made prior to awards.
