The BEST Robotics competition is very dear to the heart of our family. My son's involvement was the anchor that kept him in school. He was a child that struggled academically and often felt as though school just wasn't for him. After he became involved in the program he found a reason for giving school a second chance...just so he could compete in BEST. His involvement showed him that there is a place for all levels of skill and intelligences in the world of business. He went on to successfully complete high school and college (against many odds) and is now a technician for one of the world's most reknown manufacturers. I volunteer as a judge and mentor in the competition (even though my son is grown and living on his own) because it is my way to give back to the organization that gave so much to my family.
