Review for The Jazz Gallery, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The unique concept that is the Jazz Gallery seems to me to be such an important component of the arts community of New York. It is a venue for talented up and coming artists to get experience and exposure and for students of music as well as general lovers of jazz to see it performed for an affordable charge, compared to the commercial jazz clubs.

I count myself lucky to have the Jazz Gallery as an option and have enjoyed many top class performances there which I would not have had the opportunity to see otherwise. Another great aspect is the several established artists like Roy Hargrove, Steve Coleman and others, who give their time and reputation to help promote the Gallery. It's a great treat to see performers like this in such an intimate setting.

The Jazz Gallery performs an important service to the New York jazz community and we are all fortunate to have access to it.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Seeing young, talented artists having the opportunity for exposure and gaining confidence from the experience.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't change much. Maybe more communications budget to promote the venue and its opportunities.

Role:  General Member of the Public & I enjoyed inspiring performances here.
