Review for Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences Inc, Doraville, GA, USA
I came to MARR in July of 2002 at the very strong suggestion of the DEA and The KY Board of Dentistry. I stayed at MARR for 15 mos in both the 1/2 way program and the 3/4 program. I had been to 2 other treatment centers in 17 yrs of off again on again drug use...mostly on. What MARR offered me was an environment to work on issues that were far deeper than my drug use. With the help of a very competent, empathetic and caring staff I came to realize that drugs were not my problem, I was the problem! At 48 years old I had to learn how to behave as a resonsible adult member of society. I am still continuing to learn that on a daily basis almost 9 yrs later. Staying at MARR for 15 mos gave me alot of time to understand to understand that I suffered from the disease of drug addiction and that there is a cure. I haveI finally stopped beating myself up thinking I was this BAD person. I learned I was just a person that did BAD things. Because of the strong recovery network of MARR and continued support I still get from MARR, I decided to stay in Atlanta....that was 9 yrs ago. MARR gave me the tools to learn how to live one day at a time.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
...my own life.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
....find someway that MARR could reach out to ALL addicts and alcoholics and give them the same help they gave me.
