My best friend is Cheyenne Indian. She may not be Lakota but her and I dressed up as Natives once and rode our horses as a tradition. We had teepees and I researched different drawings they made on their horses and educated people on what everything meant. I don’t remember everything but I do know that it was inspiring to those people we educated. I miss it! And I miss the North Platte River Valley and the mountains. The adventures we went on reminded me of how beautiful God’s land is. What breaks my heart the most is how the Lakota were treated in their home land. How they are still treated makes me want to cry. But time changes everything and I’m glad to call the Lakota my friends. Peace brothers and sister. May peace be with you forever. And may God guide you to peace within your hearts, minds and spirits.
