Janaagraha's engagement with IDRF is more than a decade old. Our experience with IDRF as a donor as been very enriching. They are very clear about their objectives of investment with a very knowledgable board who comes with deep experience of investing in social projects. Very sharp in their observations and very clear that they would like to be associated in projects where the Civil Society organizations clearly look at social challenges with a systems lens and work to fix the root cause of problems. This also gives organizations like us comfort that when they review our projects and program interventions, they share with us candid feedback and also never shy away from loopholes or gaps in our program interventions. They understand the nature and gravity of social challenges and hence, while they expect results annually, but they also understand that challenges like Poverty. Poor Education, poor healthcare services, governance etc cannot be solved for in a linear or a binary manner. Overall, our engagement with IDRF continues to be very meaningful and we hope to leverage on our collective strengths to bring about a difference in society.
