Hi. I obtained my medical training from Duke University but while practicing began to drink on a regular basis. I thought it was safe because I was in my 30's and did not ever have a problem with it. I thought I had escaped my family history. Within 2-3 years I was an alcoholic and drug addict. I was fired from medicine and went through 6 years of multiple treatments, minimum wage jobs, jail and 1/2-way houses. My last treatment was MARR. My sobriety date is 3-25-05. I am now an addiction psychiatrist in Maryland and would recommend MARR to anyone. From MARR I learned that the spirituality of recovery involves relationship with self, others, and a higher power of my understanding. I went to 9 treatments and have seen many others in my profession and MARR stands out as the best.
