Review for Cancer Schmancer Foundation, Reston, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Fran Drescher never ceases to amaze! She took cancer and turned it on its head! Fran was diagnosed with uterine cancer back in 2000. She is a survivor but refused to but her past behind her. She took this experience and used it to create what I believe to be one of the best cancer foundations: Cancer Schmancer. Born in 2007, in only a short time Fran has been successful in putting this important issue on the map, like getting Johanna's Law passed and organizing fund raising events. She has been successful in teaching us that we need to listen to our bodies and be our own advocates. She will stop at nothing to ensure that cancer be diagnised in Stage 1 when it is most curable. The Cancer Schmancer Foundation website is filled with articles and other wonderful information that helps us better understand cancer and our bodies and keeps us updated on the lastest ways to keep ourselves healthy as well as ways to help contribute to this important cause. Fran has taken a negative and turned it into a positive through an organization that has become essential to kicking cancer in the butt. Thank you Fran for sharing your experience with us so that we can join in the fight against cancer.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I think this organization has made a difference in so many ways. Teaching people about the importance of their health and how to be medical consumers can only save more lives.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I think Fran is doing a wonderful job. I hope that one day Cancer Schmancer will expand beyond the US.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Having the chance to feel part of the team in fighting against cancer. This organization makes me feel that every little gesture makes a big difference.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Always very friendly and helpful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Help contribute even more than it already does to cancer research.

Ways to make it better...

I have only had positive experiences with Cancer Schmancer.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

So far this organization has been very successful and I think, at least at the moment, there is no challenge big enough that Cancer Schmancer can't handle.

One thing I'd also say is that...

This truly is a wonderful organization.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
