When I saw the Express It! Art Journal in our clinician resources room, I was immediately impressed. I asked if I could take one home to my teen, to see if it would help my daughter who was reluctant to share her feelings with me - she will often shut down when I try to engage in conversation. We used the art journal as a way for her to share her feelings, without having to verbalize her concerns. She agreed to share pages of the workbook with me and we agreed not to "talk about it." I was so inspired by what I read, and her beautiful illustrations. I learned so much about her...when she felt powerful and when she felt anxious. I learned how she would use music, or other resources, to get her through certain challenges. I think this workbook helped her to remember her strengths and the resources she has to help her through difficult times. We both loved this unique way of sharing." Child Guidance Center, Inc.
