Review for Nepal Youth Foundation, San Francisco, CA, USA
The Nepal Youth Foundation serves young people in Nepal in many ways. Thousands of children have been rescued from servitude . Education is provided to students whose families are unable to afford school fees. My favorite program are the Nutrition centers, where young mothers are taught how to feed their children properly, in spite of poverty and cultural bias. This charity is truly life saving and life changing.

The Nepal Youth Foundation assists the most vulnerable children, especially girls from destitute rural communities, have a chance at a better life by getting proper nutrition and an education. Nepal is a very poor country with a patriarchal society that tends to discourage schooling for girls- therefore, girls may be "sold" into indentured servitude to provide money for their families. The Nepal Youth Foundation has rescued thousands of girls by gifting their parents with a baby goat or pig, and helping with school fees. Malnourished children are saved by teaching proper nutrition techniques to their mothers. All this is done in a culturally sensitive manner for a more lasting success.

There are so many more children who could be helped if there was more funding for the Nepal Youth Foundation- and they make sure every penny is put to good use!

Pathfinder International helps empower the world's poorest women to have healthier families by spacing their pregnancies, through education and contraceptives. Maternal death rates are greatly reduced with training for mid-wives, devices to control excessive bleeding after delivery, and tetanus vaccines. All of their work is done in a culturally sensitive manner, so Pathfinder's work is welcomed, not seen as intrusive or insulting.
