I am the school nurse at a high poverty PreK-8th grade school in Tempe. For more than a decade, PNA and Patrick de Haan have brought Santa and his workshop to our school. The students of all ages enjoy the time with Santa as he does a Santa parade through the hallway in addition to individual visits with the younger children. Each child receives a gift and a book and our older students enjoy helping to unload the gifts and books from the truck knowing that their younger siblings will enjoy a gift and a personal visit with Santa and they also will get a book. This visit from Santa and all of the extra activities that he brings have been enjoyed by hundreds of students from around the world as we are located down the street from ASU. For many of these children, this is their only gift that they get for Christmas.
