My husband and I are both recovered addicts. I was able to go to 12 Step meetings, but that was not enough for my husband. He entered MARR with both of us expecting him to be home in 30 days. We had no contact for a period of time, which was very difficult since I was at home alone with our two small children. I attended my regular meetings every week and participated in MARR's Family Week. The whole process was somewhat gut-wrenching, and I did not agree with every aspect of the program and process, but I must say that 6 months later, when my husband came home, he was a different person. This is not to say that we went without problems after that, but I believe that MARR gave us both the tools we needed to fix the things that were wrong in our relationship, and ourselves. I hold MARR personally responsible for both of our recoveries, as well as saving our marriage. It has been almost 9 years since my husband was at MARR, and in May, we will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary-both of us clean and sober!
