Review for Gig Harbor Peninsula Historical Society, Gig Harbor, WA, USA
I became involved with the GHPHS and the Harbor History Museum about 10 years ago. Since that time, I have become very involved with the facility. Raising the funds to open the facility was hard work, yet we had a great team to accomplish it all. Working as a regular volunteer with the staff on various projects, exhibits and collections keeps me learning about the community all the time. Seeing the faces of visitors as they experience a "new" type of museum with lots of hands-on activities as well as many photographs, letters and records. School children experience school as it was a hundred years ago and come away with memories they will never forget.
