I work as the DWI Coordinator for the Village of Los Lunas/Valencia County (VLL VC) DWI Program. The mission of the VLL VC DWI Program is: ‘Reduce the occurrence of drinking and driving including underage drinking in Valencia County through prevention/education, enforcement, adjudications, sanctions and treatment.’ Another key component of our program is to reduce recidivism and assist clients, families, youth connect to our community in ways that increase their health, safety, and overall wellness. Wings For L.I.F.E.- Life-skills Imparted to Families through Education has been demonstrated to be a national and state Best Practice model whose mission is: ‘Transforming lives to break the generational cycle of incarceration.’ WFL focuses on teaching families stability by addressing safety, well-being, accountability, jobs skills, money management, and parenting. The VLL VC DWI Program shares and supports this mission and the valuable services that WFL provides to fill a well-identified needs within our community and throughout the state. WFL is truly making a difference in so many lives, impacting the health and wellness not only at an individual and family level, but at a community level as well!
