Each time I work one of these shelters, it brings me greater satisfaction. My sense of involvement in the community is growing, and my previous stereotypes of homeless people are breaking down. When you work a homeless shelter, you aren't repeating the same old interaction where people on the street are asking you for money. I've had wonderful interactions with many at Turning Point, and those interactions are reshaping my ideas about homelessness and fueling a deeper interest in related issues.
