I have volunteered with Backyard Abundance plenty of times and love what they do! It's a small operation that does a lot of good for our community! Fred, the executive director, also teaches a couple of gardening classes at the University of Iowa, and I feel lucky to have been able to learn how to grow my own food, protect our environment, and be more sustainable. A lot of the community gardens in Iowa City are thanks to Backyard Abundance!
