Review for Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences Inc, Doraville, GA, USA
My son was a patient at MARR in 2008. He had finally hit his "wall" and wanted to get help. My husband and I were referred to MARR by an Addiction Specialist who had evaluated our son, so we took his advice and put our trust in MARR. It was the absolute BEST thing we could have ever done. I believe their program, coupled with the "community living" approach, is the right combination in giving the necessary tools to recovering addicts/alcoholics. While our son was receiving help, my husband and I attended the Parent Support Group and found their help invaluable. We also attended the three-day workshop and learned a tremendous amount about our son's disease. MARR's approach to helping the entire family is priceless. We would have been lost without them. Our son is still sober today and we give much of that credit to MARR.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
My family is now educated about drug abuse/addiction. We've learned how not to be enablers. If our son ever relapses, we know what we need do, and also know that support is always available to us from MARR.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
We paid for MARR's services ourselves, and were also required to sign over insurance to them, which they agreed to reimburse. However, the reimbursement time was several weeks, and we had to get the President of MARR involved. We were reimbursed immediately after that call. Hopefully, this procedure has been changed since then.
