First time I heard about Community Bots was in a small Nicaraguan village when a 12 y/o girl welcomed me into the robotics class in English. When I asked her about the future, she responded “I want to be a robotics engineer” (in English. It is the first time in 18 months travelling through communities that I see a tech programme making such a direct impact. Just after one year of STEM lessons, girls completely understand the importance of programming. This program is definitely a life changing experience for them.
