Lets see what can I say! My husband and I adopted a basset hound (William) from PAWS NE a short time ago. We immediately fell in love with him. Did he have issues - yes, needy yes (that is the nature of the breed lol) vocal absolutely, some would say whiney. I think to myself how he must feel, an older dog having one owner all of his life and then having to leave to a stranger because his owners could no longer appropriately care for him because of their age limitations. How crushed he must feel. So all I can do is give him all my love, some quality of life, become besties, and when I sometimes lay down with him at night (him being on the dog bed and me on the floor), I get a blanket to cover us, I cuddle right into him and know that he knows he is loved so much and for that time there are no worries. Thanks to the great staff member at PAWS NE who took a great deal of time placing him with the right owners and boy did she make the right decision lol!! LOVE THIS DOG 4-EVER !!!
