Year in and year out, my family continues to find ICAN to be an incredibly impactful organization worthy of any financial support, volunteer time, and energy we can offer. Finding an organization that allows young children to volunteer in a significant way can be difficult, but the ICAN staff and volunteers have been beyond welcoming and kind to my three children, as well as my husband and me. We have been able to cuddle, feed, and play with puppies in their first two months of life and helped raise a puppy for the first time this fall. Numerous dogs in training have spent a furlough of weeks to months with us, attending extracurricular events, practicing skills in the grocery store and other public places, walking the neighborhood while kids scootered and biked, and all in all learning how to live in a home with a family! We all have loved volunteering with ICAN for the past four years. It truly has been a joy to see these dogs in training grow into service dogs who bring help, hope, and happiness to the lives of their forever owners.
