I volunteered to raise funds and attend the 8 day, 375 mile bike ride around Lake Nicaragua in Jan 2011. I assisted with driving a support vehicle and I raised $2,060 in donations so I could bike/attend the event.
I also hosted a "meet and greet" between Kathy Adams, CEO/Founder and some of my friends when Kathy visted the DC area in Sept 2010. We skyped Deepa and some of the kids in from Nicaragua. It was a fun evening and allowed for my friends to meet Kathy and the kids firsthand and learn much about EI.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
being humbled by the experience. The 8 day bike ride was life changing. Kathy and her team are wonderful folks to spend 8 days with while riding around a beautiful country. I was able to see and experience parts of Nicaragua most folks never have the opportunity to see or experience. Kathy's committment to the kids is contagious.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
The next bike ride, I think it would be nice for the kids if more of them were able to attend. It would afford them the opportunity to see parts of Nicaragua they may not have the opportunity to see any other way.
