Review for Youth Mentoring Connection, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I became a volunteer with YMC in 2010 and couldn't be happier with the program they organize.
The organization is very supportive of both the young adults and volunteers in the program and while many serious things are discussed, there is always a sense of caring and joy about the program and all the organizers in the program.
I personally have learned a lot more about myself during the program and I truly appreciate the time and effort the organization puts in especially by ferrying our young mentees to our work place every other week.
And my young mentee and I have developed a strong relationship and I've seen her grow a lot in the year we've been hanging out - a lot of which is down to the support from all the organizers in the program encouraging these adults to always do better.
I recommend this organization to all my colleagues.

It's so easy with our busy lives to be self-centered and not give back but it's so rewarding to see the great big smiles on all these young people's faces each time I see them. I've even expanded my time with my mentee by trying to meet on weekends and now I get hugs from her young sisters every time I stop by - this is beyond precious to me.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Nothing except try to get help for them financially so that they can help more and more young people of LA.
