Review for Help Heal Veterans, Winchester, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

It breaks my heart to see negative reviews about this organization for issues that were corrected more than 10 years ago still dragging their rating down. I first became aware of this agency in 2013 when I was a COTA student in an inpatient psychiatric unit at my local VA. 9 years later, I am now the MOT on the very same unit. From that time to the present, Help Heal Vets, aka Help Hospitalized Vets, has provided tens of thousands of dollars worth of craft kits to this hospital alone, helping thousands of Vets. I want to express how very much the craft kits provided to our Vets are appreciated and give them such peace of mind and pleasure while they are hospitalized with us. These craft kits benefit our Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, our hospitalized Vets on the Med floors and the Residential/Homeless Vets programs. The sense of accomplishment and purpose they garner from craft completion, sometimes while the are at the lowest points of their lives, is immeasurable. I am so very grateful for their mission.

Our budget is so limited that there is no way that my VA would ever be able to provide the amount or quality of materials that HHV provides. For anyone out there reading this, do some research on how crafting activities help out Vets process and heal from their suffering. This is a good charity. It makes a difference daily.
