We have been familiar with ABC and its work for many years now, and their stellar work continues unabated. We have personally visited several sites in South America with which ABC is heavily involved. It is one thing to acquire land and protect habitat, but another to involve local communities and organizations in such a way that they feel a pride of ownership and a vested interest in keeping and expanding conservation efforts. This interest can be financial, but can also become a matter of the heart. Without this kind of support from the local people, land acquisition and preservation projects usually fail. Kudos to ABC, and hopefully they'll be able to continue their good work.
