Our little girl Gamja was struck suddenly and seriously with IVDD. We rushed her to our vet and found ourselves in a very bad position...we could not afford to help her and our vet said she feared Gamja would die without surgery. The vet gave us the names of several groups and we went o work quickly calling and emailing. Within minutes DRBC was on the phone with us and within an hours we were on their doorstep. They agreed her situation was grave and we quickly relinquished her to their care. That day she had emergency surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. It was touch and go as the disc material had begun to spread up the spinal canal. 2 days later Gamja was cleared of all danger....doctors confirmed she would live and might even walk. 5 days later she came back to DRBC and the physical therapy began. We stayed in touch and visited as often as we could. Imagine our surprise when 10 weeks after this nightmare began, DRBC asked if we would like to take her home to love again. SHE IS WALKING! In a world where so much goes wrong, there are still good people out there. Thank you DRBC!
