Review for Hudson Pride Connections, Jersey City, NJ, USA
I moved over to Jersey City, NJ from Brooklyn, NY and I felt isolated since being in NYC I had vast rescources for LGBT people living with HIV/AIDS. I was talking to my best friend who moved over to the area proir to my coming and he told me about a wonderful small support group that was being held on thursday evenings at 7pm. I was afraid at first to attend not knowing what to expect but I soon found out that it was like a great small brotherhood. I found myself runnning to get their on time to get a seat because the room was tiny but cozy! HPC does great work for the Hudson County LGBT community and People Living HIV/AIDS giving them a sense of hope, direction, and socail suppot. I know that most Non-profits are flat funded and have no income but this organization works miracles on a shoe string budget! I would recommend their services to any new residents to the LGBT community of Jersey City.

The staff varied from very freindly to very young and inexperienced, still learning how to deal and talk to people with social ills face by society.

The communication was always talked about at the center meaning not allowing groups to be phased out because a lack of communication from the board members.

getting and keeping grants and good staff that will stay and help the community.

The board needs to be some focus groups to see how the clients are doing and what the needs are of the community that it serves.
