My family has been a Jacobs heart family for over 7 years now. When my little sister was first diagnosed with leukemia, 7 years ago, Jacobs heart reached out to us and provided us with so much support and love. Jacobs heart always made sure that our family’s needs were met, they offer so many different programs and things like: groceries, family support groups, teen groups, counseling, family camps, gift cards, transportation, etc. My family was able to take advantage of all these resources to make our horrible nightmare, of my sister battling cancer, a little less real. Through the teen group I was able to relate to other teens that were going through the same thing with their siblings and we really became a whole family. 7 years later and I’m still in contact with them all! Jacobs heart isn’t just an organization, it’s a family. Even after all this time we still receive letters and support from Jacobs heart. Jacobs heart supports families even after treatment, it’s a family that will last forever. I will forever be thankful with Jacobs heart and all they have done for my family and I. I am also now a Jacobs Heart Volunteer and love spending time in such a wonderful organization.
