My husband had a SCA in May 2019 at 47. A few months after, he was really depressed and felt very alone and isolated. He felt like he could not relate to anyone. I reached out to SCA and they connected him with two other survivors. They both called him and talked to him about their experience and offered a lot of emotional support to him. He still struggles with the reality of it, but their calls were a big turning point for him in recovery. SCAF helped him to realize he was not alone and that he could potentially still live a very full life. And, with that encouragement, his recovery has gone well. I have a husband, and it is as much because of those calls as the chain of survival on the day he arrested.
