Review for Cowan Slavin Foundation Corp, Framingham, MA, USA
From Margie Bovee's dream of a nurturing place where artists could blossom, learn and shine to the highly respected fully-engaged community arts center it is today, the 212 Arts Center is our city's cornerstone for creativity. The spirit of support and development amoung the member artists allows for untethered growth, expression and participation and extends graciously into the community. The 212 generously shares its resources and frequently partners with area organizations such as the Saline District Library, the Saline Downtown Merchants Association, Saline Parks & Recreation and the Saline Area Schools to produce classes, demonstrations and events that expose our community to the joy of art. The quality of life in Saline has been greatly enhanced by the 212 Arts Center and its members.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
At the end of my term as a City Council member, I was looking for a way to stay involved in the community. A kind friend invited me to have coffee and cake with a new group that was forming. Every Friday 8-12 women gathered to share cultural news, talk about how to affect positive change and awareness of the arts and how art improves our lives. I was forever changed by the warmth and encouragement of this now much larger group and have gone on to chair major public art events and committees.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Provide a larger space without losing its itimacy and spirit so that more people can experience all of the advantages that art in our lives provides.
