I met Sara and her late husband Chris more than 30 years ago and have been admiring this exceptional woman through the adoption of their daughters, the death of her husband and the creation of Rock-Paper-Scissors. Starting from a simple idea, providing bikes for girls in rural Viet-Nam, Sara, with and for Sophie and Phoebe, has come a long way to help Vietnamese girls and their community. Selfless generosity, down-to-earth competence and hard work are the basis for this non-profit which has been quietly blooming over the past 10 years. I like its low-key solid quality: these are people you can count on, who won’t let you down and will keep fighting for the good cause. The results are spectacular, and have been for so many children. Here’s hoping that RPS will be given the means to continue on this path.
