Review for Kotor Kitties, Seattle, WA, USA
Since my earliest memories of childhood, I have always had a cat. So when I stumbled upon the beautiful port city of Kotor, Montenegro on a vacation and then decided to purchase an apt there, I fell in love with the City of Cats and the devotion the locals have to its feline population. But because I am fortunate to visit frequently my second home, I often noticed on my daily walks around Old Town that there were so many cats and kittens that needed food, shelter, and medical care. I learned about Kotor Kitties through their Facebook page and immediately contacted April King as to how I could volunteer to help the Kotor Kitties Foundation. I have now been a volunteer for several years and witnessed first hand their spay/neuter operation. They are allowing so many homeless cats the opportunity to live healthier lives while controlling the population. The KKF works throughout Montenegro with the help of local veterinarians and countless local people and tourists to provide a better quality of life for the overpopulation of community animals. I have contributed in small part by helping with the development and sale of the annual Kotor Kitties Calendar for fundraising. And, I also provided some much needed housing for the cats in Old Town.
