Esta and the entire team at Saffyre are so amazing. I never thought I would rescue a horse, I have rescued so many cats, dogs and birds in my lifetime but never a horse. Actually spoke with Esta last year about filming at Saffyre as a CA destination for people to check out. I ended up ordering her book and was so engrossed in her story I could barely put it down. Except to scroll on Facebook and stumble upon the plight of Hollie. I know it was Esta's book that opened that part of my heart to horses that I never knew existed. Next thing I knew I was messaging the woman who put the post up telling her I would step in since she only had till Friday to find a placement for Hollie horse or her outcome was most likely off to the auction. With legs that no longer served mankind she was not of any value to the owners of the horse riding facility. Never before really being around horses other than riding a couple when I was a kid I jumped into action. Went to the feed store and started paying out money for vet visits, bandaging, etc. I was so scared with the amount of work I had on my plate and driving out to take care of her everyday I wasn't sure which way to turn. Esta stepped up and said she would take her at Saffyre if I could get her to CA and help with some of the expense. My team and I put together a gofundme and managed to get her to CA to live her life at Saffyre. It's been the most rewarding experience of my life seeing videos of how happy she is and she has become quite the sassy one. I was able to visit her a few months back and being in her presence is something I cannot express in words. Horses have the ability to fill your entire heart with so much love. I'm so lucky to have met Esta and to see her vision on why horses are really here and it's not for humanity to exploit.
