North Beach Citizens is a very special organization. The mission of NBC is straightforward: to provide food, stability and housing to low-income and unhoused members of our community, yet the structure of the group does more than that. Clients can rely on NBC for daily meals, clothing and hygiene supplies, access to healthcare, job training, reconnection to loved ones, as well as assistance in obtaining and maintaining housing. The big difference in the mission of North Beach Citizens from other similar groups is that it not only provides the proverbial fish, but gives clients the tools to become fishers themselves. The programming inherently dignifies our clients. NBC also focuses on community education and awareness, by finding ways for all neighbors to be involved and searching for opportunities to partner with local groups and businesses nearby. North Beach is a very special place in the world, and North Beach Citizens is one of the big reasons why.
