Review for Empowerment International, Albuquerque, NM, USA
I met Kathy Adams, the Executive Director at a EI fundraiser over 3 years ago. What impressed me about Kathy was her grass roots approach to forming this wonderful non-profit as well as her dedication to helping Nicaraguan children get access to education. Both Kathy and the rest of the EI staff are so dedicated to empowering communities and families. In addition, EI has a 97% retention rate that shows both a high level of commitment from the children and their families that benefit from this organization. What I really admire about EI is that they utilize a sustainable non-profit approach to better the lives of the children and families who live in the barrios outside of Granada.

I have been fortunate enough to travel to Nicaragua a couple times to see first hand the amazing work this organization does. For example, I had an opportunity to visit a community that EI provides educational support to and I also have had the privilege of meeting some of the children who receive scholarships from EI to attend school.

Increase the number of EI staff and additional resources EI needs to enable more Nicaraguan children to attend school.
