Review for Stupid Cancer, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I love this organization. Period. They are huge and raise a lot of money and awareness for young cancer patients and survivors. "Remission is not a cure." Despite being so big, they are totally down to earth and caring. I sent the founder Matthew Zachary and facebook message and got a reply in the same day. I don't get that from the more name brand cancer organizations.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

their websites. They use facebook, twitter, and their main page to the fullest extent. The connect young individuals across the nation with each other and provide companionship and understanding.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

do exactly what Matthew Zachary told me.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

They really care about the individual.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Friendly and responsive. They want to spread their message and help others, that is the only goal.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

decrease cancer incidents in young adults and raise survival rates for the first time EVER.

Ways to make it better...

i never had cancer in the first place. NOT

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting people to care about young adults with cancer. We're not as cute as kids and don't have the money of middle aged folks.

One thing I'd also say is that...

They have helped me not feel so alone or ashamed over the side effects of a disease I have very little control of.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Volunteer & I will wear their logo at my triathlons.
