Review for Forever Home Greyhound Adoptions, Middleburgh, NY, USA
Unprofessional and unkind. During our application process, it felt like we were being interrogated. We were not given straight answers about a timeline and were even threatened that if we were not ready to take the dog as soon as she was ready, there was someone else who would take her instead. The dog was suddenly ready for us, about a week ahead of what we had originally thought, and they removed the sutures from her spaying surgery a few days early in order to get her to us instead of waiting until the next weekend when we could have also come to pick her up. When she ended up getting sick about 6 weeks after adoption, I called to see if they could offer any support or resources. They basically told me I was stupid for bringing her to an emergency vet ("You only bring a dog to an emergency vet if they are bleeding out.") and told me that no vet should charge thousands of dollars for exploratory surgery and that the vet who spayed her could "cut her open for 2-300 bucks." I have never heard a pet spoken about in this way, and for all the questions they had for me about my family's ability to take on this animal they claimed to love, they didn't talk as if she was anything more than I piece of meat when I actually called them in need of support. I would not do business with them ever again.
