Review for GO Campaign, Santa Monica, CA, USA
I've been involved with GO Campaign for several years and have traveled to projects in Peru and Tanzania. What I love most about GO Campaign is its direct, tangible impact on changing young lives and giving people hope. Scott Fifer finds "Local Heroes" who have identified a great need and have the energy and enthusiasm to make changes. What they lack is financial resources and support, and that is where GO Campaign steps in to assist.
In Peru, we visited a school where GO is helping to educate students in remote, high altitude locations. We heard an older student describe how he was able to attend secondary school, while his older brother had not because he was supporting the family. This student movingly described how he was doing it for both of them and was so grateful for the opportunity.
In Tanzania, we saw firsthand the amazing work that Brenda is doing to build the Gabriella Centre, a comprehensive facility to help students with developmental disabilities, while educating their families and communities. The students, who would previously have been hidden away or ignored, were happy and thriving.
I have complete confidence that GO Campaign puts resources in the hands of those who really need them and can put them to good use. The individual stories of the Local Heroes and those they serve are so inspiring. I hope to visit some of the local projects in the US as well, and I plan to continue supporting GO Campaign; they do wonderful work!
