When I had my first baby, I knew that I would be at risk of post-partum depression and I didn’t have any close friends with little ones in the city where I lived. I found Life with a Baby operated by Healthy Start Healthy Future and as soon as I had recovered from a c-section I signed up for my first stroller walk. That day was life changing - I met a number of new moms and 3 that are still friends 12 years later. I attended so many valuable activities like baby CPR, kids Christmas parties, Mother’s Day events to mingle with other moms. During my second maternity leave I became a host of activities and after my kids started to grow, volunteered and became a donor to help other Mom’s feeling isolated and nervous with their first babies. They continue to focus on maternal health and do great work!
