The Youth Garden Project is literally an oasis in the desert. I love bringing my toddler to the garden. His favorite thing to do is visit all the animals, the chickens, the bunnies, and the cats. But seeing the beautiful plants grow throughout the season is also a joy. As an educator I believe strongly in the healing power of nature for children. And it is the YGP's mission to connect children with the gardening process, letting them experience the wonder of growing from the earth and the important role food plays in a community. The space the garden occupies is maintained lovingly by staff and volunteers. I am so grateful this organization exists. For the benefit of my child and all the children in Moab, I hope it continues to thrive for decades to come.
