I am the herd manager for the Corolla Wild Horse Fund in North Carolina. We are a 501 c 3 nonprofit that is tasked with managing one of the last remaining wild herds of Banker horses in the world. Equus Survival Trust has been instrumental in guiding us through a massive project we began in 2020 to collect DNA samples from every individual and begin a database to track ancestry, relationships and breeding, genetic diseases and more. I have learned so much about breed conservation from EST and greatly value their unbiased, scientific approach to saving rare breeds. They are an incomparable resource, always happy to answer questions, offer guidance, and provide support. We are proud to be affiliated with EST and look forward to many more years of working together to save the Banker horses.
