I am incredibly lucky that I was born in a country where a cleft lip and palate was operated on as a matter of course. Having seen an ad on the television a few months back showing children in deprived, third world countries who are unable to afford to have this operation, I have been wrestling with my conscience that I should be doing something to help.

Today, I finally got my act together and have donated the money for a child to have this life changing operation. I feel very lucky that I am in the position to do this. I can't believe how emotional I feel that by giving such a relatively small amount I will have helped a child get their smile back!
