I am an educator and a mother of a young adult with autism. I became involved with OAR Run for Autism when planning a marathon training program. It was important to me to make my miles matter, and OAR's mission and programs spoke to issues that are very close to my heart. I have run four marathons and two half marathons with this group. Each time, I have felt appreciated and perfectly supported by a group that has certainly become a "run family." It is very meaningful to meet other individuals and families and share experiences about our loved ones with autism.
