I can think of no other non-profit organization where you can better see the direct impact donor generosity has on members of the community than Sparrow's Nest. Sparrow's Nest does more than provide meals, it nourishes souls and provides individuals and their families with hope - and fun.
During times when everything is turned upside down, these amazing volunteers - who are every day heroes - lovingly prepare and deliver home-cooked meals that bring families a sense of normalcy being together around the table and the surprise and anticipation of what special delivery might arrive that week to celebrate a birthday, holiday or help the family with groceries, school supplies and more.
I remember interviewing Krista Jones for a news story in the early years of starting Sparrow's Nest and her desire to feed "everyone" and watched with awe as she expanded from feeding Moms and children to Dads and reached hundreds of families in the region. With a new home in the future after 10 years of making a difference, the next steps of feeding senior citizens with cancer will become more possible. The Sparrow's team is an unstoppable force committed to a mission of greater good that I am so proud to help support.
