My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for GlobalGiving, Washington, DC, USA
Leadership Initiatives became part of GlobalGiving (which is a a non-profit that connects donors with grassroots projects around the world through their website http://www.globalgiving.org) around a year ago.
During that time, GlobalGiving has helped introduce Leadership Initiatives to people from around the entire world generating hundreds of new donors through their contests, introduced us to new potential sponsors and corporate donors and done everything within their power to help us succeed.
Their staff is incredibly dedicated to improving their quality of service, is never afraid to say they made a mistake and to then rectify it and are devoted to the goals of the organization.
I have been to their offices several times and they do their absolute best to visit the groups they sponsor, work to make sure each organization gets the attention they deserve and are worthy of the GlobalGiving sponsorship.
Working around the world over the past 10 years from teaching in China to Parliament in South Africa, rarely have I come across an organization as open, as interested in the people they are trying to help and as open minded and goal oriented to achieving its mission statement as Global Giving and give it my highest recommendation.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Bauchi State, Nigeria where their funding has created computer cafes run by the disabled, tailoring businesses run by women who once did not have a voice in the community, welders who are using the money to send their children to school and fish farmers who are using their new income to bring new infrastructure to their community.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
create a quicker turn around of the donations, right now they come to us about two weeks after the month the donations were made is over. And that is one small thing, which is to be expected when they are sending out thousands of checks per month, other than that they are phenomenal.
