Guadalupe was diagnosed with breast cancer in late February/early March
of this year. The Salem Cancer Institute sent a referral to Northwest Family Services (NWFS). It was received by Yaira, the community health worker.
Guadalupe told our team, "I am extremely happy with all the services Yaira
gave me. She helped me get Kaiser Permanente (KP) insurance. I am
extremely happy with both NWFS and KP for the way they treat me and how
helpful they have been. Everyone at NWFS and KP are super friendly and
supportive; they all treat me very well. I am still in treatment, but I have
been getting good results. I thank God for everyone that has helped me
through this process. When I was diagnosed, I was scared not only because
of cancer but my first thought was, 'I do not have insurance and will not be
able to afford treatment.' Economically this program has been really
helpful, and I am very grateful for all that the program has given me."
