As a physical therapist I see the benefits of RTT's equine-assisted services. Whether it's improved balance and coordination achieved during riding, learning about personal boundaries and the human-animal connection during ground work, the sense of direction and body space that comes from driving, or more medical model goals that are addressed during physical therapy using equine movement--the benefits and changes are real. The horses, staff and volunteers at the farm are amazing. RTT is a safe space for children and adults with disabilities and their families, and we are lucky to have them in our community!
