Review for Veterans Airlift Command, Saint Louis Park, MN, USA
I cannot say enough about Veterans Airlift Command; it truly feels like a miracle to have been carried on their wings during this trying time. My name is Zephyr Mays, I am from the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and I serve as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Coast Guard. On Father’s Day 2022, I passed out on a run and awoke to the life-altering news there was a cancerous mass on my brain, an emergency which required an immediate complex brain surgery in Boston, MA followed by radiation and chemotherapy over the course of three months.
Veterans Airlift Command is a god send!
With little notice, Jenna and her team arranged a flight for us to return home following the most difficult period of our lives. From the ease of scheduling to the professionalism and compassion of our pilots, Alan and Rich, the whole VAC experience made our transition back home seamless. I cannot imagine having to navigate commercial air travel in my physical condition at that time. To be whisked home and reunited with my daughter, who had to remain in NC, so effortlessly has given me the ability to recover, heal, and set a course for the best possible outcome for my family and I.
There are no words to express the depths of my gratitude for the love and compassion shown to us by Veterans Airlift Command and our flight crew — magic and miracles do happen!
