Review for Friends of Lakewold, Lakewood, WA, USA
My mother was an avid gardener in Lakewood for 46 years. When she passed away in 1993, I was delighted to learn that Lakewold had been established and was looking for donors. I can think of no more fitting a tribute to Marge McCulloch than the Lion Fountain from Thornewood Castle, set among the Loderi rhododendrons. Those who knew her can appreciate the significance of those things coming together in one fabulous garden! Ever since we made her memorial at Lakewold, we have enjoyed the gardens, the events and mostly just showing off our "hidden" treasure to all of our friends and visitors. The Wagners created wondrous gardens and we are all so lucky that we get to enjoy them!
